“Having some competition makes you push yourself that much harder. It’s going to bring out the best in us.”

Chet Pickard

Nashville Predators’ 1st Round Draft Pick (18th overall) in 2008 NHL Entry Draft

Having to work against someone to achieve the same desired results (making a certain team, winning a game, etc), is what pushes people to better themselves through working hard and smartly. Competition is the driving force for improvement.

Rocky Mountain Elite Goaltending partnered with Rbk to create competition within the camp so every goalie learns how to compete and works harder to improve their game. On-ice competition has led, in our belief, to every goalie exerting themselves to be better than their fellow goalies within the camp. This is improving their performance while teaching the value of hard work leading to results.

Net Lesson

Learning to compete is vital to success both on- and off-ice. As Pickard says, “it’s going to bring out the best in us.”
